Job Description: Network/Desktop Support Specialist Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Network/Desktop Support Specialist to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing top-tier support for both network infrastructure and desktop environments, ensuring seamless operations across the organization. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing our IT systems to ensure reliable and efficient service to all users. Key Responsibilities: Technical Support: Provide timely and efficient technical support to end-users, including hardware, software, and network troubleshooting. Address issues related to desktop environments, including operating systems, applications, and peripherals. Network Management: Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot network connectivity issues across the organization. Assist in maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. System Maintenance: Perform regular updates, patches, and maintenance of operating systems and software applications. Ensure all systems are compliant with security policies and best practices. User Training: Educate users on best practices for network security, software usage, and troubleshooting basic IT issues. Provide guidance on new tools and technologies. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of technical issues, resolutions, and updates. Document procedures for troubleshooting and routine maintenance tasks. Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members to ensure the smooth operation of IT services. Assist in larger IT projects, including network upgrades, system migrations, and rollouts of new technologies. Incident Response: Quickly identify and respond to IT incidents, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity. Analyze and resolve network and system issues efficiently. Qualifications: Education: A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator) are highly desirable. Experience: Proven experience in a desktop support or network support role. Familiarity with various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux, as well as networking protocols and hardware. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies. Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and remote desktop tools. Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
